Liefs,
Soosh

I landed savely on Tortola. The first part of the trip, from Curacao to Saint Martin was uneventful. I was almost late, because I overslept, but that seems to be standard when I have to catch a flight. The second part of the trip, from Saint Martin to Tortola was more interesting. The plane was a tiny musquito that seated 8 people including the pilot and the seat next to him (which was empty). I arrived about 40 minutes late in Tortola, but the coworker who was picking me up didn’t mind. He was happy to have a break and some time to take a breath. So, I’m here and I’ll keep you guys updated as regularly as possible

To all my friends, my family and loved ones. Bwahaha, that’s so not me
Anyway, I just wanted you all to know I’m off to ‘tola for a while. I’ll be leaving tomorrow very early (in our timezone at least) and I will be back on the 6th of July, but very late (or at least in your timezone). Ofcourse I’ll keep my blog updated, I will be seen on MSN from time to time and in the weekend (that is on the same days, even in different timezones) I might be on Skype. For everybody who hasn’t got my Skype-name-thingie, but is desperate to reach me while I’m there; leave a comment and I’ll make sure you can find me on Skype.
Love,
Soosh
P.S. For everybody who forgot my birthday (which is indeed today); if I ever forgot one of your birthdays (very likely) or forget one in the future (extremely likely) you are forgiven

Today I was stopped by a nice police officer. The nice police officer very politely pointed out that I was not wearing my seatbelt. Since the rental car we are driving at the moment has an alarm that goes off when you are not wearing your seatbelt, I fasten it before actually sitting down. The police officer said: ‘That’s not exactly how they’re suppose to be used.’ He gave me a ‘Proces Verbaal’, meaning that I can either pay up before the end of July or I have to appear in some sort of court to make my case. Ofcourse I’ll just pay the ticket, since I was doing something that the law says is not allowed. It will cost me 75 Guilders (about 40 Euro’s). Next time when I’m not wearing my seatbelt (which is always) I will make sure to avoid the police officers, even if they are very nice and polite.

I’ve selected some nice quotes, just because I felt like it.
-Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.
-For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, ‘It might have been.’
-You don’t drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
-We should not let our fears hold us back from pursuing our hopes.
-The greatness comes not when things go always good for you. But the greatness comes when you’re really tested, when you take some knocks, some disappointments, when sadness comes. Because only if you’ve been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

I guess I’m gonna start with English blog-postings, since that will be the language I’ll be speaking and writing in most of the time and it could be better. First of all, my blog theme is a bit more fluffy than usual. I can use some fluffyness and some light, bright and happy colours. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of good things happening in my life at the moment, but also some hard times ahead again. The good things ofcourse involve the new job and moving to another (but much greener) island. I also heard that I will be flying to Tortola on Tuesday the 26th and be there for 13 days. So that’s gonna be a blast!
The not so happy and fluffy mood is being caused by some other things. I really look forward to the new job, new apartment, new island, new people and all that. But it is hard that I won’t see the people that I miss so much back home for some time. I finally made some friends here in Curacao and now I’m leaving them behind again. So there is sadness, happiness and a very frustrated Bram because of my mood swings
In just a couple of days it is my birthday and I would love to spend it with my family and friends. Unfortunately that is not possible.
So here I am, all mixed up in all sorts of emotions. Ofcourse I can’t always reach my friends in Holland by phone and even if I can reach them it is still different. I guess I have to figure this one out on my own and drive Bram crazy while I’m at it.
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
Take a bow, play the part of a lonely, lonely heart
Say goodbye to the world you thought you lived in
To the world you thought you lived in
So I smiled and tried to mean it
To make myself let go
